I have a new student and he is 3 and has no English foundation. Ideas?
Level 0 is ideal for very young learners with zero English background. This level focuses on building vocabulary through singing, engaging games, and plenty of repetition. Each page features “Emergency Games” to re-engage learners when their focus starts to drift. Remember, teaching this level requires a lot of patience and creativity. And if you ever feel your patience wearing thin, just remember: smile and smile, because even a little laughter can turn the day around!
I have a mom asking why we are still on the same topic and why repetition?
Repetition is essential for very young English learners as it reinforces new vocabulary and grammar, strengthens memory, and boosts confidence. By repeatedly exposing children to words and phrases in engaging ways, they become more familiar with the language and more comfortable using it. This continuous practice not only keeps them motivated but also helps build foundational language skills, making learning both effective and enjoyable.
What do you do for students using an iPad who cannot drag/drop?
For students using an iPad who cannot or have difficulty with drag-and-drop activities, you can assist by performing the drag-and-drop actions for them. Additionally, if answer choices do not already have numbers, you can add them to help with selection. To make learning more enjoyable, let the students pick a pen color of their choice when you draw lines for them. This small personalization can add an extra layer of fun for your young learners.
Are the lessons in every level all completed?
We hear you loud and clear. Our goal is to ensure you never run out of teaching materials. Each level comes with fully completed units, and every unit includes complete lessons, providing you with consistent, ready-to-teach content at all times.
My student is a fast learner and I don’t see the need for a review. What do you suggest?
If you believe your student has mastered the lessons, you can skip the review section and proceed directly to the Knowledge Check I. However, we recommend conducting the second review before administering the final Knowledge Check to ensure comprehensive understanding.
I have a student who finds Level 1 too easy but isn’t quite ready for Level 2. What should I do?
If you have a student who finds Level 1 too easy but isn’t quite ready for Level 2, you can extend the vocabulary or sight words sections by having the student create simple sentences. Encourage them to write these sentences on the screen or in their notebook. Additionally, you can incorporate follow-up questions during free talk sections to further challenge and engage the student.
I have a Level 1 student who gets bored so easily and doesn’t want to cooperate in class. What should I do?
When a student gets bored and is reluctant to cooperate, start the class by asking them about their favorite game. Let them know that if they cooperate, they will have the opportunity to play that game. This approach can motivate them and make the lesson more engaging. Please check our Game page for more games.
How do I check my students’ homework?
In general, most students don’t send back their online homework. You can request that they submit the speaking and writing parts specifically. For the other sections, students will be able to see whether they got the activity right or wrong on their own. This ensures you receive the key components of their work while allowing them to check their progress independently.
I have a student who wants to work on reading comprehension, almost exclusively. What would you recommend?
We offer a reading program designed to boost reading comprehension for your student. With various levels to choose from, each lesson is crafted with enthusiasm and creativity to make learning enjoyable and effective for both you and your student. Click this link to the Reading Page.
Can I use this curriculum on Zoom?
Our lessons can be used on Zoom, Koala Go, VooV. Google and ClassIn Software. To present your lesson, use the screen share feature. When using zoom, if the students use an iPad they won’t be able to do the interactivity. You may suggest using a laptop for them to do this.
How does interactivity work with screensharing on different software?

15. How does interactivity work with screensharing on different software?
Here’s an overview of how interactivity typically works with screensharing on various software platforms:
1. Zoom
Interactivity: Supports interactive features like polls, chat, and annotation tools during screensharing. Drag-and-drop interactions are possible, but they can be limited on mobile devices, particularly iPads. A laptop or desktop provides a better experience for full interactivity.
Devices: Best experienced on laptops/desktops for drag-and-drop tasks. Tablets may have limited functionality.
2. VooV
Interactivity: Allows screensharing with interactive features such as chat and whiteboarding. Drag-and-drop functionality can be available but may not be as smooth on mobile devices.
Devices: Laptops/desktops are preferred for optimal interactive experiences.
3. Koala Go
Interactivity: Supports interactive activities during screensharing, including drag-and-drop features. Performance can vary based on the device and browser used.
Devices: Laptops generally offer better interactivity than tablets.
4. ClassIn
Interactivity: Known for robust interactive features including drag-and-drop, whiteboarding, and real-time collaboration during screensharing. Provides a good experience on both laptops and tablets.
Devices: Laptops are ideal for full interactivity, but tablets also work well.
5. Google Meet
Interactivity: Supports interactive features such as chat and basic annotation tools. Drag-and-drop functionality is available but can be limited, especially on mobile devices.
Devices: Laptops/desktops are recommended for the best interactive experience.
In summary, while most platforms offer some level of interactivity during screensharing, using a laptop or desktop is generally preferred for a smoother and more effective experience, especially for drag-and-drop tasks.
The verb conjugation in Level 3 seems too repetitive. Can I skip this?
In Level 3, repeating verb conjugations is crucial because many language learners struggle with the simple rules of when to add or not add “s” to verbs. To help students master this concept, we include verb conjugation practice in every unit of Level 3. By reinforcing these rules consistently, students can gain a stronger grasp of verb usage and improve their overall language skills. However, if you feel that a student has already mastered this skill, you can choose to skip this activity in the lesson.
Why is the lesson on past tense of verbs in Lesson 4 repeating?
In Level 4, practicing the past tense of verbs is essential because many language learners frequently make mistakes with it, often forgetting or misusing it when speaking or writing. To address this common challenge, we include past tense practice in every unit of Level 4. Repeating these exercises helps students master the correct use of past tense verbs and reinforces their understanding of how to convey actions that have already occurred.
What are Emergency Games?
We created “Emergency Games” specifically for your very young students. With our experience teaching little ones online, we know their attention spans are short, making it challenging to keep them focused. These games are designed to help you quickly get them back on track and make your classes engaging and magnetic. We thought “Emergency Games” was the perfect name because, let’s face it, sometimes it feels like you need a rescue team just to keep their attention! We know it’s not easy—keeping their focus is like trying to herd cats, but we’ve got your back!
Should I use the main lesson content or the speaking lessons?
The speaking lessons are designed to boost your students’ skills and confidence. Each unit’s speaking topic aligns with the main lesson content, so you can use these lessons to supplement at the midpoint of each unit or adapt them as needed. We believe that building self-confidence is crucial for ESL learners, as it makes applying what they’ve learned easier and helps them feel more comfortable speaking.
I was wondering if you would be creating any adult curriculum soon?
